Some meals are meant to be lingered over – the kind that unfold slowly, course by course, candle by candle, with conversation stretching long after plates are cleared. Unofficial Flavours of Hogwarts Dinner 2026 at The Barn at Wind’s Edge is one of those evenings.

Held each March but often gifted and planned in December, this much-anticipated dinner has become an annual tradition for many guests – a celebration of imaginative cooking, handcrafted décor, and the joy of gathering around a uniquely abundant table.

A MENU THAT LEADS THE EVENING

At its heart, Unofficial Flavours of Hogwarts Dinner 2026 is about the food.

Each evening unfolds as a multi-course, prix fixe experience – a long, leisurely meal designed to be enjoyed slowly and socially. Guests often remark that they arrive curious and leave comfortably full. The meal is intentionally abundant, echoing the celebratory feasts that inspired it.

One charming detail: the chef behind the menu wasn’t originally familiar with the Harry Potter series. His approach has always been culinary first – researching, interpreting, and translating ideas into flavours that feel whimsical, comforting, and delicious.

A TRADITION ROOTED IN CREATIVITY

The dinner series began during the pandemic, in a time when gatherings needed to be reimagined. With weddings paused and the world slowed, the Barn turned its attention to intimate, restaurant-style events that placed food at the centre of the experience. One of those early evenings explored the imagined flavours of Hogwarts, and it quickly became clear that the theme offered something special.

Over time, the dinner evolved into a seasonal tradition. As the Barn’s autumn calendar filled with weddings, the event found its natural home in March, a quieter month that allows for thoughtful transformation and extended preparation. Spreading the dinners across several evenings made it possible to fully lean into the décor, the menu, and the sense of occasion that now defines the experience.

AN ATMOSPHERE CRAFTED BY HAND

Once the menu is set, the space follows.

The Barn is dressed from floor to ceiling with handmade décor and imaginative vignettes. The design leans into intimate corners to discover and playful surprises woven throughout the space.

In past years, guests have wandered through a mysterious greenhouse, encountered unexpected details tucked between beams, and admired decorations that feel like a storybook stage set.

DRINKS, SWEETS, AND SMALL DELIGHTS

No themed dinner would be complete without a thoughtfully curated bar. Specialty drinks make their appearance throughout the evening, including a much-loved butterbeer and rotating creations featuring shimmer, colour-changing elements, and unexpected finishes.

Later in the evening, a sweets trolley makes its way through the room, offering confections inspired by the theme and crafted by the Barn’s kitchen team – playful, nostalgic, and entirely their own.

DRESSING THE PART (IF YOU WISH)

Costumes are welcomed and encouraged, though never required. Some guests arrive in subtle nods – a scarf, a pin, a carefully chosen colour palette – while others lean fully into character.

The Barn’s team participates as well, adding to the sense that the evening is something just a little outside the ordinary. It’s an easy icebreaker, and for many, part of what makes the night feel like a true occasion.

PLANNING YOUR EVENING

Unofficial Flavours of Hogwarts Dinner 2026 takes place across several evenings in March.

Tickets are sold by table rather than individually, encouraging guests to attend with friends, family, or colleagues and enjoy the experience together.

Because the meal is lengthy and thoughtfully paced, this event is best suited for adults or older children and teens who enjoy trying new foods and lingering at the table. Dietary accommodations are available with advance notice. There is a special day specifically for families to enjoy the décor and unique Unofficial Hogwarts experience.

The event dates tend to sell out – in fact, one evening is already sold out – which is why many guests choose to purchase tickets as a holiday gift or secure their table early.

A REASON TO GATHER

More than anything, this dinner is about creating a unique, shared moment – one that feels indulgent, imaginative, and warmly familiar all at once. We enjoy the Guests who return year after year, and welcome new faces to join the revelry.
